About Us

Our humble beginnings began with our founder Cheri Ford. Who, like the Gerbera daisy, is native to South Africa. The Gerbera daisy represents different things to different cultures. Some believe it represents a closeness to nature and a devotion to the sun. Others believe the Gerbera brings comfort to ones sorrows and eases everyday stresses. More generally, Gerberas represent happiness, joy and excitement. To Cheri, the Gerbera daisy represents growth, resilience and the ability to survive even in tough conditions. We at Gerbera Counselling & Mental Wellness hope that these qualities resonate with you and allow us to support you on your journey to mental wellness.

If you are struggling to work through life challenges, social challenges, or personal challenges and need someone to listen, understand, and support you, then we are here to help. Our counsellors have extensive experience working with diverse cultural groups, 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, and navigating complex family dynamics.

Individuals

One-on-one counselling sessions lasting approximately 50 min. Extended sessions can be booked if necessary.

Couples sessions are approximately 80 min with all partners in the relationship present. Predominantly using Gottman therapy as framework to building relationships
